On 21st January 2026, ZICTIA, together with consultants from FINSYS Limited, delivered the presentation of the ICT Infrastructure Masterplan and Disaster Recovery (DR) Feasibility Study at the Ministry of Communication, ICT and Innovation headquarters in Kisauni. The session was chaired by Hon. Minister Mudrik Ramadhan Soraga, accompanied by the Ministry’s senior management, including the Principal Secretary and Deputy Principal Secretary.

This project forms a key pillar of the Revolutionary Government of Zanzibar’s vision to advance digital inclusion, strengthen tourism, and drive the blue economy. The Masterplan supports the rapid growth of ICT and the adoption of emerging technologies such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), IoT, 5G, and cloud computing, all of which rely on robust and reliable digital infrastructure. With the planned Disaster Recovery site in Pemba, ZICTIA aims to enhance continuity, security, and scalability of critical digital services across Zanzibar.
