On 27 January 2026, ZICTIA held a high-level briefing session in which FINSYS Limited presented the Zanzibar ICT Infrastructure Masterplan to CEOs across key corporations and government authorities. The Masterplan outlines a transformative roadmap for digital development, focusing on organizational modernization, resilient and scalable digital connectivity, and priority ICT initiatives such as the International Telecommunication Gateway. It also highlights innovation and startup enablement through strategic stakeholder partnerships, positioning Zanzibar to harness emerging technologies and unlock new digital value chains.

Chaired by Director General Eng. Shukuru Awadh Suleiman and attended by senior leadership, the session reaffirmed ZICTIA’s commitment to strengthening the national digital ecosystem and advancing Zanzibar’s technology leadership. This engagement marks a significant milestone in shaping a future-ready ICT environment capable of supporting economic diversification, digital inclusion, and long-term technological competitiveness.
